When a friend of his father’s, a programmer for the London Stock Exchange, acquired a Rare Pepe image for $27,000, he heard about NFTs.
Ahmed stated, “It sounded ridiculously expensive at the time, but my dad’s friend sold his NFT just a few months later for half a million dollars, “I became fascinated that someone was willing to pay this much for a jpeg!”
And such a windfall was hardly unheard of. The CryptoPunks collection has the most well-known NFTs, with some avatars fetching millions of dollars. NFT sales are expected to reach $25 billion in 2021.

So the resourceful youngster, who acquired the fundamentals of coding at the age of five, taught himself how to utilize Open Sea, the world’s largest online NFT marketplace, and how to create his own profile images. In June of 2021, he released “Weird Whales.”
Ahmed started a Twitter conversation discussing how he made his whales after his launch. His posts went viral, and he became a celebrity in the NFT community.
He’s now working on additional projects with designers who have previously worked for Marvel and Disney.
He claims that the collections he’s worked on have sold for a total of $15 million.
He’s taken home around $1 million in his own money, which he stores in Bitcoin.
He hasn’t even opened a standard bank account and hasn’t converted a cent. He hasn’t purchased anything with his windfall.
He stated, “There’s a risk that it could all go to zero, but I don’t need the money yet.” “I’m confident that [crypto] prices will increase a lot more from here.”
When he’s not fattening his crypto wallet, the 8th grader enjoys swimming and taekwondo. He first wanted to keep quiet about his incredible achievement.
When his story made news, however, his friends and relatives learned of it and began applauding him in droves.
His grandparents are particularly pleased with his achievements.
According to Ahmed, “My grandad is really ill at the moment, so it was heartwarming to see him follow all the coverage with pride.” “It’s not the money but the moments like this that bring me the most happiness.”
