Craig Wayne Farrell was an English professional footballer who played forward for Carlisle United in the Football League. After coming through Leeds’ junior system, Farrell scored 71 league goals in a career that also included Rushden and Diamonds, and Exeter.
Farrell’s career also included appearances for Exeter City and Rushden & Diamonds. In addition, the ace earned three caps for England Under-16s, scoring once at the 1999 Euro U16s competition.

Farrell passed away on May 30, 2022. Andrew Jenkins, chairman of Carlisle United, said on the club’s website: “I am so sorry to hear this news, Craig was such a likable young man. He impressed everybody with his attitude and he settled quickly, scoring some good goals through his first season with us.
“I think we can all agree that 39 is such a young age. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this very sad time.”
Manager Paul Simpson added: “I speak on behalf of everybody at the club when I say that our thoughts are with his family and friends.”
