England Boxing announced the tragedy on Friday with a tribute to the bright young athlete. John Stubbs, England’s Talent Coach, stated, “Frank was a larger-than-life character. I’ve never met anyone that could lose a hotel key 27 times in the first two days of the trip, or anyone with the pre-bout ritual he had,”

He continued, “This is a sad day for the boxing community and my thoughts are with big Frank and the family.”
One of his heartbroken friends, who was at the river with the youngster boxer this morning, said, “RIP Frank, love you brother.
“Tried everything I could to save you. Heart’s in bits.”
