Gary C. Ferrell II Killed A Woman And Her Granddaughter
Sheriff Rich Kelly told reporters that the suspect fled the scene in a blue Ford, and a high-speed police chase began on Indiana 28 into Frankfort, where the suspect crashed his car in a construction zone and was captured without incident.
He identified the suspect as Gary C. Ferrell II of Frankfort, who worked the day shift at the facility, and said he remained in detention pending charges, according to coworkers. Kelly said to the reporters, “We were able to get him stopped within probably 45 seconds to a minute of him leaving the facility,”
Promise Mays, 21, and her grandma, Pamela Sled, 62, both of rural Rossville, were killed when they arrived for their evening shifts, according to Kelly.
He said no motive had been established, and it was unclear if the women were targeted or victims of a random incident.
The facility, which designs and manufactures vehicle seating, first opened in June. Following the incident, Kelly stated that production would be halted for the day.
