Malcolm Connolly describes himself as a ‘protection officer,’ and has served as Johnny Depp’s bodyguard for many years.

When he was with ex-partner Vanessa Paradis and their children, he started working for the actor as his security guard. Connolly reportedly met Amber Heard for the first time in the UK in 2010 while promoting Nicolas Cage’s film “Drive Angry.”

In the ongoing defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, the bodyguard was one of the witnesses. During his testimony, Connolly stated that he was still employed by and loyal to Depp.

Malcolm Connolly In The Johnny Depp Vs Amber Heard Trial

As Johnny Depp’s marriage with Amber Heard became stressful, his security claims he observed injuries and marks on the actor’s face.

Malcolm Connolly testified in the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard trial on Thursday, April 28, telling the court that he watched Depp change from being happy in love to “silent” as Heard became more “dominant” and “demanding.”

He testified at the trial that things “started to change” between Depp and Heard, who began to dispute more frequently.

He said: “Amber started to change. Amber started getting a bit more feisty, and demanding. I could see that Amber wanted to wear the pants in this relationship. That was pretty obvious,”

Connolly claimed that he began to notice scratches and injuries on Depp’s face over time, but never on Heard’s.

Connoly said: “What I noticed straight away was most of these marks were happening on the left hand side of his (Depp’s) face,”

He added: “There would be scratches on his neck. Maybe a fat lip in the corner, a bruising in the eye socket. It was getting more regular. Not every week, but it was definitely happening.”

Connolly’s evidence brought the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial to a close for the week, and it will resume in Fairfax County court on Monday.
