Who was Kang Soo-Yeon Die?
Kang Soo-youn, a well-known South Korean actress, died on Saturday at the age of 55 after suffering a medical emergency at home.. From the mid-1980s through the end of the 1990s, she was one of South Korea’s most well-known and internationally appreciated stars.
She started her acting career as a child actor and rose to prominence with films such as Whale Hunting 2 and Mimi and Cheolsu’s Youth Sketch.
She was the first Korean actress to win an award at an international film festival for her work in I’m Kwon-film taek’s The Surrogate Woman, which she received at the 44th Venice International Film Festival.
She earned the nickname ‘World Star’ after winning best actress at the 16th Moscow International Film Festival in 1990 for Come Come Come Upward (1989).

Movie Career
She became a success on the international film festival circuit as the decade proceeded.
Kang was the first Korean woman to receive a major film festival award for her part in the 1986 film The Surrogate Woman, which was awarded her best actress at the Venice International Film Festival.
Her 1989 picture Come Come Come Upward won her outstanding actress at the Moscow International Film Festival.
Kang’s roles began to diminish in the 2000s, and she has largely disappeared in the last decade.

Kang Soo Yeon Death Reason
First responders discovered Kang unconscious at her house in southern Seoul at 5:48 p.m. on May 5, 2022. They said she went into cardiac arrest after collapsing due to a brain hemorrhage.
She was rushed to the nearby Gangnam Severance Hospital, where she was placed to the ICU and declared comatose.
She died at 3 p.m. on May 7, 2022, after getting two days of medical treatment at the hospital.
