Officials with the New York Police Department said that a combination of old-school investigative skills and cutting-edge technology helped them track down Winston Glynn.

Glynn was tracked down to a building on Patchen Avenue in Brooklyn, where he was apprehended.

Kristal Bayron-Nieves’ family was informed of the break in the investigation.

Glynn has been charged with murder, robbery on two counts, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal use of a firearm.

Glynn allegedly pistol-whipped the manager with the revolver and seized the manager’s phone the night of the incident after demanding money from the counter.

He then allegedly shot Bayron-Nieves while she was attempting to open the register.

Even though much of his clothing at the time of the murder was unremarkable, detectives noticed Glynn wearing a distinctive “Guess” belt during a comprehensive review of the security film.

Detectives were able to match the belt to one he wore in an Instagram photo he shared.

An EBT card used by Glynn after the tragic incident was also linked to him.

He is thought to have escaped the scene by riding the number 6 subway train from 116th Street to 110th Street.

He went into a bodega off 110th Street and used his EBT card to buy a fruit drink instead of utilizing the money from the robbery.

Detectives used the information on the card to track him down to a Days Inn near Kennedy Airport in Queens, which is presently being utilized as a shelter, and followed him until he was apprehended.

Mayor Eric Adams was present at the news briefing and applauded the investigators’ efforts.

Adams said, “These detectives understood that Kristal wasn’t just a number,” “They operated professionally and brought this killer to justice.”
