Michael P. Pratt was a basketball player and coach from the United States. He was a 195-pound guard who stood 6’4″ tall. Pratt graduated from Meadowdale High School in 1966. From 1967 to 1970, he was a three-year letter winner at the University of Kentucky, where he played under famed coach Adolph Rupp.

Following his time with the Wildcats, he was drafted by the Kentucky Colonels in the 1970 American Basketball Association draft, where he played two seasons and averaged six points per game.

  • Pratt was a member of the coaching search committee that brought John Calipari to the University of Kentucky in 2009.

Mike Pratt Cause Of Death

Mike Pratt passed away on Thursday night as a result of cancer complications. Pratt had a tumor removed from his intestines in July 2019. His cancer expanded to his liver, jaw, and back later.

Family members started a fundraising campaign in May to help pay for an experimental treatment. Calipari has made a $50,000 donation to the campaign. Pratt was supposed to start the treatment on June 16, the day he died, according to the campaign website.
