Raffaella Julia Theresa Abruzzo, better known by her stage name Rae Allen, was an American theater, film, and television actor, director, and singer.

Beginning in 1948, she appeared in Broadway stage musicals before going on to television and film roles in 1958. Quintina Blundetto, a recurrent character on The Sopranos, was played by her.


Rae Allen was 95 years old. She was born on July 23, 1926, in Brooklyn, New York City, U.S.


Her first husband’s name was John M. Allen. They later divorced.

Rae Allen then married Herbert Harris, who is a politician.


In 1958, she began acting in television and film, replicating her stage performance in the Damn Yankees film adaptation.

Allen starred in The Untouchables, Car 54, Where Are You?, and The Patty Duke Show, among other films. In All in the Family, she played Edith Bunker’s cousin Amelia.

She played Mrs. Sokol on Seinfeld before landing the role of Aunt Quintina Blundetto in The Sopranos.

Allen has also appeared in movies including Reign Over Me, Stargate, A League of Their Own, and Where’s Poppa?

Death Cause

On Wednesday, Allen’s representative, Kyle Fritz, announced the actor’s death to The Hollywood Reporter, issuing the following statement: “I had the pleasure of representing Rae Allen for over 20 years. She [was] one the most gifted actresses I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I will be forever grateful to have been a part of her incredible journey.”
