Ryan Delanty and Thomas Shultz Wiki
According to his family attorney, two former University of Missouri frat leaders named Ryan Delanty and Thomas Shultz have been charged with brain damage in the worst fraternity hazing injury in US history. A Boone County grand jury indicted former Phi Gamma Delta fraternity brothers Ryan Delanty and Thomas Shultz on a number of crimes on Friday, including felony hazing, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The charges originate from the hazing of Daniel Santulli, 19, who was blinded and unable to walk or communicate after being force-fed beer and forced to drink a liter of vodka.
He had to be resuscitated in a hospital when his heart stopped beating and he had a blood alcohol level of 0.486, which was six times the legal limit. Santulli’s family is represented by David Bianchi, a lawyer who specializes in hazings.
Daniel Santulli’s parents are warning other families to ‘be careful’ in the wake of their son’s life-changing injuries.

He had to be resuscitated in a hospital when his heart stopped beating and he had a blood alcohol level of 0.486, which was six times the legal limit. David Bianchi was quoted as saying: “The damage was as horrible as it could possibly be and (have him) still be alive,”
He added: “I know the defense lawyers who defend the fraternities. And everyone agrees this is the worst ever, It’s the worst fraternity hazing injury ever in the United States, been doing these cases for 30 years.”
Suspects
According to the Post-Dispatch, Shultz, 21, is suspected of being the fraternity vice president who picked up a liter of Tito’s vodka for the hazing in October, despite the Phi Gamma Delta’s purported “no alcohol” policy. According to the complaint, he allegedly passed the family-sized bottle to Delanty, Santulli’s “pledge dad,” who told him he had to consume it.

According to the lawsuit, another member, Alec Wetzler, used a funnel and tube to pour beer into Santulli’s mouth. Wetzler was charged with misdemeanor counts of giving alcohol to a juvenile and possessing alcohol by a minor earlier this month.
Charges
The Phi Gamma Delta chapter has now been deactivated on campus, and the university said in May that 13 students had been reprimanded, but did not specify how, according to the local media. The bond was set at $50,000 apiece for Shultz and Delanty, who appeared to be around 20 years old, according to the local media.
