On the evening of Friday, March 26, 2021, at 11:30 p.m., she was last seen at the home she shared with her husband of 40 years in Franklin, a suburb of Milwaukee, near Country Dale Elementary School.

She is 70 years old.

Husband Arrested

Wes Eckert, Eckert’s husband, told WTMJ-TV that he was arrested but later released and that he had nothing to do with his wife’s disappearance. He told the television station that they had a fight the night she vanished.

She hasn’t been seen since, and family members and law enforcement authorities have launched a massive search for her, which includes a website and a Facebook page named “Help Locate Sandy.”

In the case of Eckert’s disappearance, one odd lead has emerged. Eckert may have been driving a 2005 dark gray Dodge Stratus with Wisconsin license plate 319 LGT, according to the website set up to locate her (the muffler is on the passenger side).

A website says, “The vehicle was last seen by Muskego police at 3 a.m. on Saturday, March 27,”

“It was traveling southbound on Racine Avenue, westbound on Tans Drive, and then southbound on Crowbar Drive. Police did not pull the car over because there was not a missing person alert out yet and no reason otherwise.”

Muskego, a residential city in a county adjacent to Milwaukee County, is just 13 minutes away from Franklin. The Franklin Police Department released a press release with the same details as the website.

Wes Eckert, Eckert’s husband, spoke to local television shortly after the couple’s home was searched by crime scene investigators.

“Investigators may have blown it,” he said when asked why investigators didn’t check the house right away. He told WTMJ about his children: “They’re being supportive, but every so often they come out and ask me if I killed mom. That’s not the case.”

Authorities conducted search warrants for the couple’s home and a storage house, according to Wes Eckert, who spoke with WISN-TV. Investigators told him the warrant was for a “suspected murder investigation,” he told the television station.
